A pedestrian lost his life and two others were injured after a part of hoarding collapsed and fall on them on Wednesday near Churchgate railway station in Mumbai. 

The unfortunate incident took place at around 12.20 pm when aluminum composite panels measuring 2.4 x 1.2 m and 1.2 m fell down from third floor of the station building of Churchgate towards South East side. 

According to report published in Mumbai Mirror, a total of three people were injured of which one lost his life. As soon as the unfortunate incident occured, the 62-year-old was rushed to the Gokuldas Tejpal (GT) hospital where he succumbed to the neck and head injuries. The deceased was identified as Madhukar Appa Narvekar.

Soon after the fatal accident in Churchgate, a heavy acrylic hoarding was ripped off a skywalk and fell on three women pedestrians in Bandra west. The incident took place around 1.30 pm. The injured were identified as Tejal Kadam, Malisa Nazareth and Sulakshana Vaze. They were immediately rushed to Holy Family Hospital and their condition is said to be stable now. 

It is to be noted that so far, at least three casualties have been reported in the pre-Monsoon showers in Mumbai. While the two youth died after being electrocuted in Kandivali east, a woman died in Chembur after the tin ceiling of her shantie collapsed.
