Pakistan envoy Abdul Basit on Thursday once again raised the Kashmir issue which has been a never ending matter of dispute between India and Pakistan. Speaking on Pakistan Day, he hoped that Kashmir issue will be resolved.
Championing the cause of Kashmiri sympathisers, he lauded Azadi League, saying their struggle is for the freedom.
He further said that history has shown that struggle for the freedom can never be finished. “Struggle for freedom of Kashmiri people will one day succeed by the grace of god,” he was quoted to have said by the channel. His statement may evoke the strong sentiments in the country.
Earlier this month, India had made it very clear at the United Nations (UN) that Kashmir is an integral part of the country. It had also pointed out that Pakistan continues to be an illegal occupant of its territory. UI had also said that the state has a democratically elected government which represents all section of the people unlike in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
