The day 10 proceedings of Parliament Monsoon Session on Wednesday witnessed a vigorous protest by members of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) over Assam’s National Register of Citizens (NRC) list, which led an adjournment of the Rajya Sabha for the day.

The House had witnessed a temporary adjournment in the morning and reconvened at 2 pm following the lunch break.

Sukhendu Shekhar Roy of the Trinamool Congress stood up and raised a point of order as BJP President Amit Shah was asked to conclude the controversial speech he had started on Tuesday.

Triggering an uproar in Rajya Sabha, Shah on Tuesday said, "Rajiv Gandhi signed the Assam accord in 1985, which was similar to NRC. They did not have the courage to implement it, we did".

Bills listed for discussion in Lok Sabha are Commercial Courts, Commercial Division and Commercial Appellate Division of High Courts (Amend) Bill, National Sports University Bill, Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Bill and Constitution (123rd Amendment) Bill.
