After two days break, the proceedings in both the Houses- Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha - convened on Monday on the 13th day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Ruckus is expected to rule the House as Opposition parties upped the ante against the ruling regime over the issue of Assam National Register of Citizens (NRC) draft and Muzaffarnagar shelter home rape case.
Last week repeated adjournments over the NRC draft issue affected the proceedings of the House. On Monday, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot will move the alternate amendments made in the Bill to grant constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) in the Rajya Sabha. The Bill was passed unanimously in the Loke Sabha on Thursday.
Besides, Home Minister Rajnath Singh will also move a Bill to amend that Indian Penal Code, Indian Evidence Act, 1872, the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
