Pathankot attack: Gurdaspur SP's visit to dargah under NIA scanner

Gurdaspur SP Salwinder Singh was on Wednesday interrogated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as he is under scanner for being let off by the terrorists, who abducted him in his car before attacking the Air Force base.

According to sources, Singh is making contradictory statements that are also different from the versions of his jeweller friend Rajesh Verma and cook Madan Gopal, which is why he is being questioned.

The SP has also claimed that he was visiting Pathankot to seek blessings from a dargah. He has come under scanner for these claims as the caretaker of the Panj Pir Dargah, Somraj, has told the NIA that Singh visited the shrine on New Year’s eve for the first time.

Also, Somraj said that both Verma and Gopal met Salwinder twice that day.

At least 7 jawans were martyred and 6 terrorists were killed after a group of militants attacked the Air Force base on January 2.
