Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Senior Leader and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema said that people of Punjab have issued their mandate in favor of Aam Aadmi Party and on march 10th same will be announced. The AAP leader was reacting to a statement of Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal where she suggested an alliance with Aam Aadmi Party.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters on Sunday, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the people of Punjab had voted for change and their party was confident that the Aam Aadmi Party government would be formed in Punjab with an overwhelming majority. Therefore, the political alliance is not their agenda but the AAP is currently formulating a strategy for the development of Punjab. Harpal Singh Cheema said that traditional parties were always involved in political maneuvering and were far away from the common people and their issues but here Aam Aadmi Party was different from these parties, as we don't plan alliances but development strategies.
The AAP leader said that earlier statements from Akali Dal leaders and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) clearly indicated that they (Badal-BJP) had accepted that their government was not being elected in Punjab and that's why they are talking about alliances and political maneuvering. Even BJP national president JP Nadda in his latest claims didn't mention their government in Punjab. Similarly Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has admitted in her latest statement that Congress is not getting majority in Punjab and she is talking of forming a government with the help of Aam Aadmi Party. Harpal Singh Cheema said that he respects Rajinder Kaur Bhattal as a leader but would not comment on her (Bhattal's) statement regarding alliance as the people of Punjab will respond to that on March 10. Cheema said that Aam Aadmi Party has full confidence in the people of Punjab that they have voted for a good political change and the upcoming Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab will act according to the will of the people.
