The government is mulling to allow oil corporations to deliver petrol and diesel at consumer's doorstep. If the plan goes through, people can get home delivery of fuel, which means no need to stand in queues and burn fuel to get fuel.Â
"Options being explored where petrol products may be door delivered to consumers on pre booking," Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State(Independent Charge) Petroleum & Natural Gas tweeted on Friday.Â
The MoS added, "This would help consumers avoid spending excessive time and long queues at fuel stations."
Home delivery of petrol and diesel can help a lot of consumers in a crunch, especially those stuck in emergency situations on highways and other remote locations.Â
Currently, the government norms do not permit for the purchase of petrol or diesel in containers or any delivery of the same.Â
