A PIL was filed before the Calcutta High Court today seeking an NIA investigation into alleged anti-national slogans raised during a rally and posters inside the Jadavpur University campus.

Alleging that faculty members were part of a rally on February 16 in the campus where anti-national slogans were allegedly raised, BJP’s West Bengal spokesperson Krishanu Mitra filed the PIL seeking an investigation into the matter.
Mitra claimed in his petition that the state police had not taken any action or initiated any investigation in this regard.

He sought a direction from the High Court for NIA to probe the incident in which anti-national slogans were allegedly raised and posters seeking ‘freedom’ for Kashmir, Manipur and Nagaland were raised.

The rally was held in Jadavpur University campus in support of JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar who has been arrested on sedition charges.

A section of youths allegedly raised anti-India slogans and put up posters during the rally.
