Mystery prevails over the death of a 23-year-old pilgrim, after his body was found hanging from a tree near Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
The pilgrim was later identified as Vijay Kumar and is a resident of Panipat. Kumar's body was found hanging from a tree with a rope at Parana Dhrod near Ban Ganga, 100 meters from the main track on Sunday evening, according to police.
The Aadhaar Card, found in the pocket of Kumar, suggests that he is the son of Mela Ram, resident of H.No. 83, Chhattiwali Gali, Ganjot, Panipat, Haryana.
The body was first noticed by a fellow pilgrim, who informed Katra police about the same. The police officials led by SHO Katra rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Katra base hospital for post mortem.
