In a sudden decision, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday repatriated Brijesh Panday, the Director in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), back to his parent cadre even before the completion of his central deputation.
Interestingly, Panday, a 2004 IAS officer of Tripura cadre, was promoted last year as the Director from the post of Deputy Secretary in the PMO. His central deputation was supposed to end in 2020.
He will report back to his home cadre on July 31. The ACC “has approved the premature repatriation” of Panday to his parent cadre from July 31, this year, the officials said. The circumstances under which Panday’s central deputation was cancelled were unknown.
