At Indore mosque, PM Modi praises Dawoodi Bohra community for its contribution to ‘Mission of Vikas’

Praising the Dawoodi Bohra community for its honesty in trade and business, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the concept of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', the world is one family, gives India an identity different from all other countries. 

PM Modi was speaking at a function organised by the community at the Saifee Mosque in Indore where its religious head, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, was present. "The concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam gives a distinct identity to India from the rest of the world and the Bohra community is an example of it," he said.

Lauding the Bohra community for their honesty in trade, the prime minister said they have set an example for others.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met the religious head of Dawoodi Bohra community, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, at a mosque in Indore and addressed the community members.

PM Modi also met Syedna Saifuddin at the Saifi Nagar mosque, where the head of Dawoodi Bohra community is holding a nine-day religious discourse since Wednesday.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan are also present during Modi's visit. The prime minister's visit also assumes significance as Assembly polls are due in the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh by year-end. Around 2.5 lakh Dawoodi Bohras are estimated to live in the state, mainly in Indore, Ujjain and Burhanpur districts. In view of the prime minister's visit, security has been ramped up, Indore range Deputy Inspector General of Police H C Mishra said.
