Gurugram To Implement Odd-Even Scheme Only On ‘Emergency’ Air Quality Days

As Delhi braces for the third odd-even scheme, authorities have confirmed that the rationing scheme could be implemented in Gurugram only when the air quality in the city deteriorates only to the ‘severe plus’ or ‘emergency’ category. In a letter Deputy commissioner Amit Khatri directed officials to implement the odd-even scheme: “When the PM2.5 levels cross 300 ug/m3 or PM10 levels cross 500 ug/m3 (five times above the standard) and persist for 48 hours or more”. Dutch King, Queen To Arrive In India Today For Five-Day State Visit

Netherlands King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima will arrive in India on Sunday for a five-day visit during which they will hold meetings with the top Indian leadership to boost bilateral economic and political cooperation. King Willem-Alexander’s trip would be his first state visit to India, following his ascension to the throne in 2013. PM Modi's Niece Damayanti Ben's Snatchers Arrested, Belongings Recovered

The Delhi Police has arrested the two accused who snatched purse of Damayanti Ben Modi, the niece of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday. The accused, who have been identified as Badal and Nonu, were arrested by the city police from the Nabi Karim area of the national capital. They had snatched the handbag of Damyanti Ben outside Gujarati Samaj Bhavan in Delhi's Civil Lines area. Damayanti is a daughter of PM Modi's brother Prahlad Modi. Read more...

Typhoon Hagibis Kills 11 In Japan, Several Flights Diverted, Rescue Operations Underway

Typhoon Hagibis on Saturday smashed into Japan killing at least 11 people and causing "unprecedented" rain in Japan. Around 7.3 million people were given non-compulsory evacuation orders as floods and landslides hit several parts of the country. It led to transportation disruption resulting into the cancellation of several flights and suspension of several bullet train lines. Read more...
