New Delhi:

Launching a fierce attack on the Opposition, including the Congress, ahead of the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh later this year, at the ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ (grand assembly of party workers) in Bhopal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said “vote-bank politics had eaten into the nation like termites”.

“Sabka sath sabka vikas is not just a promise. It’s a well-thought-out plan for millions of Indians. Anyone who is left behind because of any reason has to be brought ahead,” he said.'Karyakarta Mahakumbh' was organised on the  birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) co-founder Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on Tuesday.  BJP President Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were also present on the occasion.

“Even in the Islamic nations across the world, Triple Talaq is not accepted. But here due to vote-bank politics, the party that is led by a woman is not worried about my Muslim sisters who are victims of Triple Talaq,” Modi said.

Speaking on the grand alliance of the Opposition-led by the Congress, Modi said the party had failed to build an alliance in India, so it’s seeking allies abroad.

“Such is the condition of the more than 100 years old party that they are seeking certificates of much smaller parties. Had they done some introspection in the last four years then such a situation would not have arisen,” he said.

“Aapne (Congress) poori taqat laga di hai mujh par galliyan dene ki, dictionary ki koi gaali nahi hai jo aapne mere liye upyog na ki ho. Apke advisor se pooch lijiye, aapne jitna keechad uchala hai, kamal utna hi khila hai” (The Congress made every effort to abuse me, you used every possible bad language from dictionary against me), Modi said.

Modi said the contributions of three iconic leaders, Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Ram Manohar Lohia, cannot be forgotten. “Through their works, they have taken the country to new heights".

The Prime Minister also praised Amit Shah. "Other parties have been forced to look for a chief as capable as Shah," he said.
