Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met with former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at latter’s residence in Chennai.
Modi was welcomed by acting party president M K Stalin who also happens to be Karunanidhi’s son. The prime minister also met Karunanidhi’s family members.
Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, P Radhakrishnan and Tamil Nadu Governor Banwari Lal Purohit were also present on the occasion.
Later, Karunanidhi greeted his supporters who had gathered outside his residence in Chennai.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured all assistance to rain-ravaged Tamil Nadu in tackling the fallout of the heavy downpour in the capital and some districts, including Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur.
