Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf in New Delhi. King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, who began their five-day India visit on Monday were accorded ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. “PM @narendramodi welcomed Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf & HM Queen Silvia of Sweden at Hyderabad House in New Delhi for the delegation level talks,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

In the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf jointly inaugurated the India Sweden High-Level Dialogue on Innovation Policy. Both the countries look forward to jointly implement projects in strategic areas such as sustainable energy and artificial intelligence (AI) etc.
The high-level dialogue between India and Sweden will look forward to jointly formulate and implement short and long-term projects in strategic areas. India-Sweden ties saw a northward trend as the bilateral trade volume touched USD 3.37 billion in 2018.
King Gustaf who is on a third visit to India also met President Ram Nath Kovind on ways to further boost relations.
