PM Modi still living in past, says Rahul Gandhi in Karnataka’s Bellary

“Modi government bought Rafale from a French company. Modi Ji went to Paris, changed the contract himself. The Rafale contract was earlier given to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. He seized the contract from HAL and gave it to his friend,' said Gandhi.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday began party’s Karnataka poll campaign with Jana Aashirwada Yatre from Hosapete city in Bellary.

Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi said Modi government promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh in the bank account of every Indian but not a single rupee has been deposited.

He said the Centre has failed to deliver on its promise of providing employment to 2 crore youths. Criticising Prime Minister Modi for not fulfilling poll promises he said, “Trust only those who tell you the truth. Those who make false promises and give false hope will not benefit anyone.”

Referring to PM Modi’s hour-long Parliament speech, Gandhi said PM hardly spoke about the future and avoided speaking on giving employment to youth and issues related to farmers. He said the PM is living in the past as he only spoke about Congress and its history whereas the country wants him to talk about the present and the future plans of his government.

“You cannot look backward and talk of progress. The country did not elect him to look in the rear-view mirror. When you drive while looking at the rear-view mirror you make mistakes like Gabbar Singh Tax, Note ban, and demonetisation,” said Gandhi.

“Modi government bought Rafale from a French company. Modi Ji went to Paris, changed the contract himself. The Rafale contract was earlier given to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. He seized the contract from HAL and gave it to his friend,” said Gandhi.

Later, Rahul Gandhi visited Huligemma Temple where he performed Pradakshine.
