New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held his second “Pariksha Pe Charcha” session in which he interacted with 2,000 students from high school to college, along with their parents and teachers. During the address, the prime minister gave students a mantra to cope with exam-related stress. During the Q&A session, a viewer of News Nation asked a crucial question that most of the students face – parents pressurising them to go for maths and science. The viewer said that every child has different strengths and asked that the prime minister that how can parents expect that every student will be good in mathematics or science?

Replying to question, the prime minister said, "Clarity of thought and conviction are essential. Yes, science and maths are essential but there are other subjects too worth exploring. There are opportunities in so many areas now."

Addressing students at Delhi's Talkatora stadium, the prime minister said that if they treat the exams as an opportunity, they will not just learn but also enjoy.

"If you treat exams as an opportunity, you will learn and enjoy from it. Exams give you an opportunity to assess your own strengths, he adds. But do not live for the sake of exams. Do not run behind marks, aim at acquiring knowledge and marks will follow you," the PM said.

The incidents of suicide due to exam fear are on the rise in the country. To ease the pressure of exams from students' mind, the prime minister asked them not to be totally relaxed before an exam but introspect about it whether the exam was of their life or just a particular grade.

"I can not say- do not be totally relaxed before an exam... But, ask yourselves if this is an exam of your life or is it just an exam for a particular grade like Class X or XII? Once you know the answer to this, your pressure will reduce," Modi told students.
