PM Modi thanks people for supporting demonetisation, says '125 crore Indians fought a decisive battle and won'

Observing anti-black money day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday thanked people for their support on measures taken by the Centre to eradicate corruption and black money.

In a series of tweets, the prime minister said 125 crore Indians fought a decisive battle and won. A video on his Twitter account cited the benefits of demonetisation.

An App link was also given for a survey where he asked the general public to tell their opinion about the government's efforts to uproot corruption and black money.

On Tuesday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley called demonetisation a "watershed moment" while former premier Manmohan Singh said it was a  "reckless step", as party rivals clashed on the eve of its first anniversary to be observed as 'anti-black money' day by the BJP and 'black day' by Congress.
