Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi Extends B-Day Greetings To Lata Mangeshkar, Wishes Netizens On Navratri

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation through his monthly radio broadcast Mann Ki Baat at 11 am on Sunday, i.e. September 29, 2019. This was PM Modi's fourth radio broadcast of Mann Ki Baat after coming to power for the second term with a thumping victory in May. The program is broadcast on the entire network of All India Radio and Doordarshan and the Narendra Modi (NaMo) App. Besides, the monthly radio programme will also be streamed on the YouTube channels of the Prime Minister's Office, Information and Broadcasting Ministry, AIR and DD News and will be simultaneously broadcast on AIR's website - www.allindiaradio.gov.in. AIR will broadcast the programme in regional languages immediately after the Hindi broadcast. The regional language versions will also be repeated at 8 pm.

11:35 am: PM Modi talks to young singer Ripudaman Singh who has been making Plogging popular across India.

11:33 am: "It is a matter of great pride for every India that Pope Francis will declare Sister Mariam Thresia, the founder of the Congregation of the Holy Family, a saint. I pay my tributes to Sister Thresia," says Modi.

11:30 am: There is very little awareness among people about e-cigarettes. They are completely unaware of its danger and for this reason sometimes e-cigarettes find their way into homes out of curiosity: PM Narendra Modi.

11:28 am: We all know that addiction to tobacco is extremely harmful for health and it becomes very difficult to get out of this addiction. People who consume tobacco are vulnerable to diseases like cancer, diabetes, blood pressure etc: PM Modi.

11:27 am: Modi stresses on the importance of the ban on e-cigarettes and awares the nation about the harmful effcts of it.

11:18 am: A young student from Arunachal Pradesh has a request for PM Modi. He asked if he can write more content relating to parents and teachers for the second edition of exam warriors.

11:11 am: PM Modi appealed to the people to make this festive season about sharing happiness with each other.

11:09 am: "This festive season, have you thought about the idea of delivery in and delivery out? asks as a means to spread joy. On one hand, when we experience the 'Delivery In' of sweets and gifts, let us think for a moment on the process of 'Delivery Out'. At least in our homes, items that are in excess and thus, not required anymore, could be allocated for 'Delivery Out', Modi said.

11:07 am: PM Modi wishes countrymen on the first day of Navratri festival. "My dear countrymen, with Navratri starting from today onwards, there will be an atmosphere of festivity filled with new enthusiasm, new energy, new enthusiasm, new resolve," he said.

In his last address on August 25, the prime minister urged people to make India plastic-free on this October 2 to observe the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Modi also appealed to municipalities, NGOs and the corporate sector to come up for safe disposal of accumulated plastic waste before Diwali.
