During the auspicious occasion of Navratri, Prime Minister will strictly maintain a diet consisting only of warm water for nine long days, joining millions of other devotees who will be observing fast on the pious occasion.

Like every year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin his nine-day fast, with the onset of Chaitra Navratra on Tuesday. During the auspicious occasion of Navratri, Prime Minister will strictly maintain a diet consisting only of warm water for nine long days, joining millions of other devotees who will be observing fast on the pious occasion.

However, first day of the Navratra fast welcomes PM Modi with busy schedules, BJP Parliament meet along with GST-related discussions for the day.

Following the footsteps of PM Modi, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will also observe Navratri fasts for nine days with strict diet.

Yogi has been deeply connected with spirituality and worship is an important part of his life. Till now, staying in Gorakhpur, Adityanath used to fast for Navratri and used to worship Goddess mother but this time also nothing has changed except for the place as he has more responsibilities on his shoulders to look after the biggest state of India.

Prime Minister eats only one selected fruit in the evening along with lime juice. He During this time, people abstain grains and pulses. Modi had also written in a blog in 2012 that he has been fasting during Navratri for 35 years.

For UP CM Adityanath, he eats only potatoes, fruits and food items made from buckwheat (kuttu) during this time of the year.
