Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday while addressing an all-party meeting on the eve of the winter session of Parliament, raised the possibility of State funding of elections in India.

During an all-party meeting, PM urged on a need for all political parties to support the anti-corruption measures taken by the government. He also assesed that the government was ready to discuss and debate all the issues raised by the opposition.

The Prime Minister has initiated the idea of having both Lok Sabha elections and Vidhan Sabha elections together and said a discussion on this should be held in the Winter Session.

All parties have opposed the demonetisation move and called it ‘draconian’.

Union Minister Ananth Kumar quoted PM Modi as saying, “PM said that all parties should show support in Winter session in national interest. PM urged all parties to cooperate inside as also outside Parliament on issues of black money and corruption.”
