Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended birthday greetings to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami, the state government said on Wednesday.
Modi, in a letter written in Tamil, wished Palaniswami good health and happiness to serve the people, an official release said. The chief minister who had turned 63 on May 12.
The release further quoted Modi as saying “I am happy to extend my hearty greetings to you on your birthday. Let the Almighty bless you with good health and happiness to serve the people.”

In return, Palaniswami expressed delight over receiving greetings from the Prime Minister in Tamil.
The Chief Minister said, “I am delighted to receive your good wishes on the occasion of my birthday, and that too in Tamil. This reflects your personal touch, which I deeply appreciate.”
“It was very gracious of you to have remembered my birthday and conveyed your greetings to me,” he further added.
