The Digital India programme was launched by the Government of India with an aim to make the country digitally empowered in the field of technology. Under this scheme, the Government has ensured an improved online infrastructure to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks.

The initiative, launched on July 1, 2015, includes - development of secure and stable digital infrastructure, delivering government services digitally, and universal digital literacy.

Earlier on June 5, the Prime Minister interacted with Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries from across the country, through video bridge.

On May 28, the prime minister interacted with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) through his NaMo App. This was the very first in the series of video bridge interactions by PM Modi with various beneficiaries of Government schemes.

Besides these, a survey, recently launched by PM Modi on the occasion of NDA government's fourth anniversary, is now rating the performance of the BJP-led dispensation at the Centre and MPs and MLAs in their constituencies. The survey was introduced to count the voice of Indian citizens.
