Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Tuesday and discussed strengthening of ties between both the Asian nations.
PM Modi called Prime Minister Loong a strong well-wisher of India and reminisced about his first visit to Singapore. He further claimed that the bilateral relationship between the two nations had been upgraded to the level of a strategic partnership.
Singapore earned huge praise from PM Modi due to its huge gains in sectors such as manufacturing, innovation, technology, public services and environment amongst others. He also said that Rajasthan was partnering with Singapore in the fields of urban development and waste management.
Further, he praised Singapore as it is helping India to develop Amravati, Andhra Pradesh’s new capital.Moreover, both PM Modi and PM Loong welcomed the issuance of corporate Rupee bond in Singapore.
Defence and security cooperation was given huge importance by PM Modi who called them a key pillar of the strategic partnership between both the maritime nations.
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong condemned all sorts of terrorism.While heavily criticizing terrorism and the rise of radicalization, PM Modi claimed them as the biggest challenges to our security. He also directed his ire on cross border terrorism and discussed enhanced cooperation between both the nations regarding the security domain.
