Modi also announced Rs 120 crore to develop an LPG plant in Mandala district and said that it will bring “a transformation in the lives of the women in Madhya Pradesh.”

He said, “When our villages are transformed, India will be transformed.”

The Prime Minister used the occasion to speak on the issue of rising crime against women and said that the recent steps taken by his government would be “beneficial in furthering the safety of women.”

The Modi government recently passed an ordinance amending the POCSO Act which allows courts to grant death penalty to those found guilty of raping children below 12 years of age.
