PM Modi should get medically tested after Rahul Gandhi's hug, says Subramanian Swamy

As the No-confidence motion debate in the Lok Sabha became an overnight topic of discussion, much due to Rahul Gandhi’s antics, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should get himself medically tested after the Congress supremo embraced him during the debate.

Rahul Gandhi should not have embraced the Prime Minister all of a sudden. What does it say about the protection of the Prime Minister inside the Parliament? This is absolutely unethical and such behaviour should be discouraged so that it does not happen in the future," said Swamy condemning the Congress president’s unexpected hug to PM Modi.

Earlier on Friday, during the No-confidence motion debate, Rahul Gandhi moved across the floor to get to the treasury benches and hugged the saffron party leader. As Gandhi was returning to his seat, PM Modi called him back and exchanged a few words.

However, the prime minister was left unaffected by the gesture and unleashed his annoyance on Gandhi in a no-holds barred attack while speaking in the Lower House of the Parliament.

"I was surprised at Rahul Gandhi's excitement to come and hug me. What is the hurry? You should trust the people in a democracy. Some people are in a rush to get to the treasury benches," PM Modi had said.

Narendra Modi-led NDA government cleared then the first floor test in the Lok Sabha by trouncing the no-confidence motion moved by the Telegu Desam Party (TDP).
