PM Modi to launch India's first Global Mobility Summit MOVE today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the first Global Mobility Summit – MOVE- on Friday (today) which will deliberate on five themes – to promote electric vehicles, reinventing public transport, electrification and alternative fuels, goods and logistics and data analytics and mobility, an official statement said.

The two-day summit (September 7-8) – MOVE - which is also India’s first global mobility summit is being organised by Niti Aayog at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

While addressing a press conference regarding the summit, Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar said that India needs a proper vision to ease the lifestyle of its citizens.

“With disruptions in the mobility sector, India will be able to generate more employment and enhance the ease of living for citizens in India,” Kumar said.

Meanwhile, Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said that the main vision behind the summit is to improve the way people travel in India.


MOVE summit will witness special guests like Arun Jaitely, Piyush Goyal, Nitin Gadkari and Ravi Shankar Prasad, among others to attend the to attend the two-day summit.

Companies like Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Tata Motors, Hero Cycles, Toyota, Bosch, Sun Mobility, Mahindra Electric, Ola will participate in the summit, the statement added.

While representation from countries like United States of America, Japan, South Africa, New Zealand, Germany, Brazil, Singapore, etc., will grace the summit.
