Parking woes are common in Noida. From markets to educational institutions, illicitly parked vehicles are a common sight in the city, in spite of the administration's constant efforts to curb this practice.
Traffic police today took cognisance of this and issued Challans for illicit parking near Amity University in Noida.
Over 300 cars were Challaned. Major traffic jams near the Varsity in Sector 126, Noida has always been a matter of serious concern.
There are no parking facilities available in the Varsity, therefore students park their cars illegally in front of the Varsity’s building, thus blocking the traffic. This leads to traffic snarls and bottleneck scenarios for several hours every day.
Besides, police also sternly warned the students of stricter action in the future if this continues. One of the auto-rickshaw drivers said, “We always face trouble due to this congested parking. Police should take strict action against this.”
However, the Varsity’s officials refused to comment citing that it’s an external matter.
