New Delhi:

In a major development in Pradyuman Thakur murder case, CBI sleuths are questioning another class XI student of Ryan International School in connection with the murder , confirm agency sources, a day after detained arrested student confessed to his crime.

According to CBI sources,  sleuths of the agency are questioning classmate of the detained student, who is also believed to have played an important role in the murder of the class II boy.

The agency on Thursday late evening claimed that a class XI student of Ryan International School has confessed his crime — murder of seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur — in front of his father and an independent witness.

CBI officials on Thursday had taken the 16-year-old juvenile to several places to corroborate his statement.

Sleuths questioning him, remained tight-lipped about the exercise, stating that any comment or revelation can affect the investigation.

The court has sent the juvenile to three-day CBI custody. The agency had sought the minor's custody form the Juvenile Justice Board and had said that his custodial interrogation was needed to ascertain if any other person was involved in the crime or not.

The class 11 student was apprehended on Tuesday night. He is being kept at Sewa Kutir in Kingsway Camp, from where he was brought to the CBI headquarters in New Delhi at 10.45am for questioning, the sources said.

Pradyumn, a Class 2 student of Ryan International School, was found dead with his throat slit lying in a pool of blood near a toilet in the school campus on September 8.

According to the agency, the suspect allegedly murdered Pradyuman to defer school examination and parent-teacher meeting (PTM). The agency did not find any evidence of sexual assault, a CBI spokesperson said on Wednesday.

In a big twist to the case, the agency also rejected the Gurgaon police’s theory that the killing was the handiwork of school bus conductor Ashok Kumar.
