Setting aside the ideological differences he had during his entire political career, former president and one of the prominent Congress leaders Pranab Mukherjee will address Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) cadre at its headquarters on June 7.
Mukherjee, who was once the staunch critic of RSS’s Hindutva ideology, will deliver the valedictory address to around 800 RSS workers attending the final year of ‘Sangh Shiksha Varg’ training course, according to a report published in the Times of India.
The people whom the former president is expected to address will become full-time ‘pracharaks’ who would then carry forward the Sangh’s agenda for the rest of their lives.
Reacting to the development, RSS leader Rakesh Sinha said that former president attending an RSS event would be an answer to all the questions raised on Sangh's Hindutva agenda.
"Mukherjee's acceptance to attend RSS event in Nagpur sends a message to the country that on vital issues there should be dialogue&adversaries are not enemies. Questions raised on RSS-Hindutva is being answered by his acceptance of the invitation," ANI quoted Sinha as saying.
