A 26-year-old Delhi woman, who returned from Noida district hospital on Tuesday morning on allegedly not finding a doctor in the emergency, delivered a premature baby in a car later in the day.
According to relatives of the woman they had to return from Noida district hospital after they failed to find an emergency doctor in the hospital.
However, the chief medical superintendent of the hospital Dr Ajey Agarwal denied absence of doctor.
“A doctor was present in the hospital. The Guard on duty gave them wrong information,” he added.
According to relatives of the 26-year-old pregnant woman, Babita, she was brought to the district hospital in Noida Sector 30 around 6:30 am after she experienced labour pains.
“We asked the emergency staff in the hospital to admit Babita in the hospital but they asked us to get her check by a doctor first,” said Babita’s mother Chndra Devi.
She added that when we started searching for the doctor, they were informed that no doctor was available at that moment.
Another relative of the woman said, “When her pain increased we contacted Babita’s sister’s employer, who is a doctor.”
