President Pranab Mukherjee extends greetings to the nation on Durga Puja

President Pranab Mukherjee greeted the country on Sunday regarding the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja. Moreover, he hoped that the festival will inspire people to build a society where women are respected as equal partners.

In his message, Mukherjee said, "Durga Puja marks thevictory of righteousness over evil and knowledge overignorance. Goddess Durga is the mother of the universe and personification of all virtues. May this festival be anoccasion for revival and rejuvenation."

He extended warm greetings and best wishes to all thecountrymen in India and abroad.

"May it inspires us to tread the path of moral rectitudeand build a society in which woman are respected as equalpartners in the building of our nation. Let us pray to GoddessDurga that she guide us on the path of right conduct andservice to our nation," he said.
