Presidential poll: Shatrughan bats for Advani as candidate, asks people to come out in support of patriarch

BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Wednesday backed party patriarch Lal Krishna Advani as NDA’s candidate for the post of President. The presidential election will take place on July 17^th .

In a series of tweets, the Bihar leader said that Advaniji is suitable, learned, respectable, experienced, desirable and deserving candidate for the most prestigious position.

He hoped that BJP would do the honour as the leader deserves for the same. The BJP leader urged people to join his campaign and come out in support for the veteran.

Sinha also shared reactions from citizens on his Twitter handle where a user said, “Advani ji should have been the 1st & last choice of the country for the President's post in present scenario."

His tweets come after BJP chief Amit Shah had constituted a three-member committee for talks with alliance partners and opposition on the issue.

The three-member panel includes Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Information and Broadcasting minister M Venkaiah Naidu  and Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

They have been tasked with holding talks to evolve a consensus with other political parties, which are likely to field their own presidential candidate.
