Priyank Gandhi Vadra, Congress general secretary for Uttar Pradesh east, on Tuesday, evoked Mahatma Gandhi in her first Twitter posts on Dandi March anniversary. Priyanka has tweeted for the first time almost a month after making a debut on micro-blogging site.Â
Interestingly, she addressed her maiden rally today after taking a political plunge. Hours after grabbing all the eyeballs for her debut poll speech, she took to the micro-blogging site and talked about Mahatma Gandhi’s message for peace.Â

"In the simple dignity of Sabarmati, the truth lives on," she wrote in her first tweet on the anniversary of historic 'Salt Satyagraha' to Dandi.
"I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent," she said in another tweet.Â

Priyanka made her Twitter debut on February 11. She gained 223K followers without tweeting anything and she is following just seven people. Among those whom she follow include Sachin Pilot, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, her party’s official Twitter account, senior party leader Ahmed Patel, party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, Jyotiraditya Scindia and brother Rahul Gandhi.
It should be noted that Priyanka has Instagram and Facebook accounts. However, these accounts don’t have the ‘blue tick.’
Earlier on Tuesday, she launched a scathing attack on the Modi government over a host of issues ranging from women's safety to the BJP's pre-poll promise of 2 crore jobs.Â
"Where is the Rs 15 lakh that was promised to the people? What happened to the promise of assuring safety to women? Where are the 2 crore jobs?" she said.Â
"I realised that this country is built with love and harmony. I feel sad at the current situation of the country. There is no better nationalism than being aware. Your vote is your weapon," she said while addressing her first political rally in Gujarat after assuming charge as Congress general secretary. Congress president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi were present at the rally near Adalaj village of Gandhinagar district.
