As Cauvery water war between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka raged on Monday, public transport bear the brunt as several buses were set on fire by angry protesters. The protests in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu turned violent on Monday shortly after the Supreme Court modified its September 5 order. The apex court asked Karnataka to release a reduced amount of 12,000 cusecs of Cauvery River water to Tamil Nadu till September 20 from the earlier 15,000 cusecs a day.
