In bizarre news coming from Pune, a 75-year-old man Maruti Shivrale stabbed Dr Awari of Sinhagad Multispeciality Hospital, Nanded Phata because according to him the doctor and hospital were charging high treatment cost from him.

Dr Awari received injuries on his hand and stomach.

Maruti Shivrale was undergoing asthma treatment in a city hospital and attacked the doctor in a fit of rage. The incident occurred when the doctor came in to examine him on Monday evening.

Shivrale resorted to this act because he was angry with the costly treatment as the sources say. Initially, the doctor filed a police complaint against the patient at Haveli police station but withdrew it later.

While speaking to Hindustan Times, he said, "I am not interested in court and police matters and hence I willingly withdrew my complaint."

"We at the hospital did not want any trouble and so we decided to discharge him immediately," he said.

The patient justified the act by accusing the doctor and hospital of charging high fees from him.

Inspector Vishwambhar Golde of Haveli Police said that they could not take any legal action because the doctor had taken back his complaint.

"Dr Awari is not interested in court procedures," he said.
