Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “Punjab is the land of martyrs. It is the birthplace of many great Indian freedom fighters. Our Trianga Yatra in Jalandhar is a tribute to all the freedom fighters and martyrs.” He was addressing the media at Shri Guru Ram Das Jee International airport, where he arrived this morning to reach Jalandhar for AAP’s ‘Tiranga Yatra’.
Kejriwal said, "People of Punjab have always played a leading role in the service of our nation.Punjab has been like a rock to India whenever any invaders had tried to attack India. Punjab and Punjabis have contributed the most in our country’s independence struggle. Even today Punjab’s heroes are at forefront, sacrificing their lives while saving our borders and keeping our nation safe.That’s why hosting a tricolor procession in Punjab, is a salute to all those warriors as well as means to ignite the feelings of patriotism in our new and young generations."
He added that today’s Tricolor Procession is dedicated to the better future and development in Punjab too. On his arrival in ‘Guru Ki Nagri’ Amritsar AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal was received and welcomed by the Leader of Opposition in Punjab Harpal Singh Cheema, Senior Leader Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, Jeewanjot Kaur, Seema Sodhi, Prabhjot Brar, Iqbal Singh Bhullar, Jagdeep Singh and other AAP leaders of state.
