Nine bogies of Jhelum Express derailed between Jalandhar and Ludhiana in Punjab. According to reports 3 people were injured in accident. Restoration work underway.Â
“Ten coaches of the Jhelum Express derailed between Phillaur and Ladhowal at 3:05 am,†Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Ferozepur Anuj Prakash said. Later the information was changed to nine coaches.Â
He said the train was coming from Jammu and going towards Pune when it went off the tracks. Further details are still awaited.
Two passengers have been injured in the incident, he said.
