Aditi Singh, the MLA from Raebareli Sadar in Uttar Pradesh, is set to marry fellow Congress lawmaker from Nawanshahr in Punjab, Angad Singh Saini on November 21 in New Delhi. Both Aditi and Angad are first time MLAs who got elected in 2017 from their respective seats. Both of them come from political families- while Aditi is the daughter of late five-time MLA Akhilesh Singh, Angad's mother Guriqbal Kaur was the MLA from Nawanshahr before him and his father late Parkash Singh, had won the seat in 2002. His father’s uncle Dilbagh Singh bagged the seat a record six times.

According to reports, the couple was engaged last year in December in the presence of Aditi's father Akhilesh Singh, who passed away recently after brief illness.

The pre-wedding celebrations will be taking place at a hotel in Delhi on November 20, while the wedding-cum-reception will be hosted on November 21 in the national capital itself. A grand reception will also be hosted in Nawanshehar, the reports said.

Aditi, considered close to Priyanka Gandhi, had made news when her name was linked with former Congress president Rahul Gandhi. The Congress MLA had created a stir on social media after photographs showing Rahul Gandhi with Aditi and their families went viral. However, Aditi took to Twitter to clarify that Gandhi was "like an elder brother to her".

Aditi has been in news recently after she defied party lines and went on to attend special assembly session called by UP Government to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti. Aditi was served show cause notice by the Congress party defying party whip. Aditi had also defied the official stand of the Congress praising abrogation of speical status of Jammu and Kashmir.
