Opposed the introduction of The National Judicial Commission Bill, 2022 by way of a Private Members Bill in Parliament. Interference of political class in appointment of judges would jeopardize independence of judiciary which is part of the 'basic structure' of the Constitution Govt wants to capture the only pillar of democracy that is keeping its dictatorial tendencies in check. Brazen attempt to appoint Judges like they appoint Directors of CBI, ED etc must be collectively opposed by all. Collegium system is just fine with minor scope for improvement.
Raghav Chadha, MP from AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) opposed the introduction of The National Judicial Commission Bill, 2022 by way of a Private Members Bill in Parliament. He said that - "the interference of the political class would jeopardize the independence of the judiciary which is part of the 'basic structure of the constitution.' Today, the only space from where govt receives push back is the judiciary and they intend to capture that as well. Govt wants to appoint judges the way they appoint Directors of CBI, ED etc. which we must collectively oppose."
