Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday addressed the 'Sankalp Rally' in Maharashtra’s Wardha to mark ‘Father of the Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary. Speaking at the rally, Rahul accused that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi ignored farmers, he waived loans worth Rs 3.2 lakh crore of India’s richest 15-20 businessmen.
“In the last four years, Narendra Modi waived Rs 3.2 lakh crore of India's richest 15-20 people. But when farmers asked him to waive their crop loan, PM Modi and Finance Minister Jaitley clearly said no to them,” Gandhi said.
Accusing Modi of lying to the people of the country, the Congress president said that Modi made several fake promises, including that of depositing Rs 15 lakh in everyone’s bank account and providing 2 crore jobs per year.
He also took on the country’s ruling leader over the controversial Rafale fighter aircraft deal and asked why Modi government bought the Rs 526 crore Rafael aircraft in Rs 1,600 crore.
“On Rafale, Prime Minister is lying to the nation. He cannot stand eye to eye with the people of the country on Rafale aircraft deal. He gave people’s Rs 30,000 crore to a 10 days old company,” he said.
