New Delhi:
The thrashing of four Dalit youth in Gujarat’s Una echoed in Parliament on Wednesday. Though the Congress has taken the battle to BJP, but in an embarrassment to the party, its scion was allegedly caught sleeping during a debate on the issue in Lok Sabha.
Rahul Gandhi was allegedly napping during the entire speech of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the Una incident. While the Congress erupted in protest over Rajnath’s remarks, television footage showed the party vice-president sleeping resting his forehead in his palm.
Rahul apparently continued sleeping even as Congress Lok Sabha chief Mallikarjun Kharge and his fellow MPs were shouting their objections.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury has come out with a clarification on Rahul’s nap, saying he was just "resting his eyes". As expected, Rahul was trolled by Twitterati soon after the incident.
