Haryana Congress spokesperson Vikas Chaudhary was shot dead by unknown men in Faridabad on Wednesday morning. Reacting to the unfortunate incident, Congress President Rahul Gandhi offered condolences to the family of Vikas Chaudhary.

In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi firstly condemned the killing of Vikas Chaudhary and said that the incident was sad as well as shocking. He also took a dig at the prevailing law and order situation in Haryana.

It is to be noted that Vikas Chaudhary was hit by bullets when he came out of a gym in Sector 9 area of the Faridabad city at around 9 in the morning. According to the initial reports, soon after he got into the car, another vehicle moved in from behind from which two men got out, made their way to the front of Chaudhary's vehicle and opened fire.

The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera in the vicinity.

In a statement, a doctor said, “He was brought to the hospital in the morning. Doctors tried their best to save him… But we could not save him.”

“The victim has succumbed to bullet injuries at the civil hospital. Around nine or ten bullets were fired at him today morning. We have started the investigation. Members of the crime branch are already at the spot. CCTV footage is being scanned,” Nitika Gahlaut, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), Faridabad, told The Hindu.
