Jan Akrosh Rally LIVE Updates: Rahul Gandhi to address mega rally at Ramlila Ground in Delhi today

Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday held a mega ‘Jan Aakrosh Rally’ to showcase the “public outrage” against "public outrage" against Narendra Modi government over several issues, including women safety, increasing farm crisis and unemployment.

Addressing a large gathering of over 40 thousand people, mostly Congress workers, Rahul slammed Modi for not delivering on the promises he had made during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

He said that after surpassing expectations in Gujarat elections, Congress would win the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and emerge victorious in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Apart from Rahul, UPA chairperson and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and former prime minister Manmohan Singh also attacked the Modi government during the rally.

The former prime minister said that the democracy of the country was in danger with the Modi government consistently undermining its Constitutional institutions.

"The manner in which the Modi government is functioning, it can also pose a threat to democracy in the country. In the last few days, what happened in Indian Parliament is before the people of the country (to see)," he said, addressing the 'Jan Akrosh Rally' at Ramlila Maidan.

Sonia said that the nation was going through turbulent times under PM Modi and every section of the society was suffering from "unprecedented violence and hatred."

"It is saddening to see that our society is suffering from unprecedented violence and hatred today. People from every section of society are suffering. The nation is going through turbulent times under PM Modi," Sonia said.
