New Delhi:

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed students at the Princeton University in New Jersey. Rahul raked up many issues that India is facing. He asserted that the Centre had been unable to deliver on the 30,000 jobs it promised to create every day.

"Those same people who got angry with us because we couldn't deliver on those 30,000 jobs (a day) are going to get angry with Mr Modi," said the Congress leader at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School.

Speaking on the unemployment problem, Rahul said that it is one of the major threats to the growth of the nation.

“Central question is how India gives its people jobs. If you, as a modern country, are unable to give them jobs, it's difficult to give them vision,” said Rahul.

Rahul added that every day nearly 30,000 new youngsters come into the job market. 450 jobs are being provided at present.

Rahul also spoke on the problem of gender equality. He said that no way near enough is being done as far as the gender equality is concerned. He added that they have done quite a lot of work in the political space, but a lot more needs to be done.

On the point to compete with China, Rahul said that they will have to compete with China and accepted that they are not doing that well.

“What does that vision look like? What kind of cooperation do we have between the two nations? These are fundamental ques we are looking forward to: We need to realise that China is moving ahead with tremendous power. And we have to work in accordance with that,” said Rahul.

Rahul said that PM Modi's Make-in-India programme should concentrate on promoting small businesses instead of targeting large business. He added that one of the central challenges in India is the politics of polarisation.
