The Congress on Friday claimed that party leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi was screened for coronavirus infection just like other passengers at Delhi airport on his way back from his foreign tour, reportedly to Italy. Gandhi, screened on February 29, was clean of any coronavirus symptoms, the grand old party said.
This comes after BJP took a dig at Rahul Gandhi saying he may be carrying the deadly virus as he had travelled to Italy, where a large number of people were found to be affected by COVID-19.
"Many people from Italy had tested positive for the virus and hence Rahul Gandhi should be checked for coronavirus. Rahul Gandhi returned from Italy just six days ago, so he should be checked for coronavirus," BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri had said referring to the Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

Congress members stormed the Well of the House as soon as Hanuman Beniwal said there should be a probe on whether coronavirus is being spread from the “home” of Congress President Sonia Gandhi as a large number of people who were found to be affected by the virus are from Italy.
Fourteen Italians have tested positive for coronavirus in India.
“Earlier, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that party leader Rahul Gandhi had forewarned the government on the impending threat from coronavirus. There should be a probe to find out if the spread of the virus originated from Sonia Gandhi’s home,” the Rajasthan MP remarked.
