Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday informed that he will be out of India for his mother and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s health check-up. Gandhi, who is often criticised for his foreign visits by a section of social media, took a dig at the BJP and asked the saffron party’s ‘troll army’ not to get too worked up.
“Will be out of India for a few days, accompanying Sonia ji to her annual medical check-up. To my friends in the BJP social media troll army: don’t get too worked up...I'll be back soon!,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted.
The BJP was also quick to respond to Gandhi’s dig and asked him to ensure a working government in Karnataka before he leaves for the US.
“We wish well for Sonia ji’s health. Women of Karnataka also await Cabinet formation so that the state Govt can start serving them. Can you ensure Karnataka gets a working Govt before you leave?” the BJP tweeted back to the Congress president.
The BJP was referring to the stalemate over portfolio distribution between the Congress and the JD-S in Karnataka, where both parties stitched a post-poll alliance to form the government
The saffron didn’t stop there and returned the favour in an even wittier way.
“Everyone on social media hopes that you will keep us entertained from there too,” the party added in its tweet.
