Rajasthan: Joint marriage of 2 sisters, 1 dies while performing rituals

A joint marriage ceremony of  two sisters turned into a tragic incident when, one sister died on Sunday, as a result of health collapse while the rituals of the ongoing ceremony was being performed. 

The incident happened at Gadtaknet sub-tehsil's "Burja ki Dhani", village which falls under the jurisdiction of Ajitgarh police station in Sikar district. 

The daughters of Kajormal Verma named Kaushallya and Santosh were having joint marriage ceremony. The groom belonged to Chimanpura village. 

The younger daughter, Santosh was already suffering from fever when the marriage rituals were being performed and her condition further detiriorated.  

Seeing this, Kajormal took his daughter to a nearby private hospital at Ajitgarh where Santosh died, after she was given initial treatement while Kaushallya continued with the marriage ritual.  

The family of Kajormal Verma had to send one daughter to her in laws while the other to the crematorium to perform the last rites.
