Union Home minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi did not follow the security guideline and instructions given by the police. He was making statements in Lok Sabha after Congress raised the issue of attack on Rahul Gandhi’s convoy in Banaskantha in Gujarat.
Rajnath said Rahul has changed his vehicle after his Personal Secretary suggested him for same. He said Rahul did not listen to the police officials.
He said the Gujarat government is investigating the matter and one person has been arrested. Rahul should have followed security related suggestions.
Rajnath Singh said Rahul Gandhi was out for 72 days on 6 foreign tours in the last two years, but didn't take SPG cover.
“We want to know what is Rahul Gandhi trying to hide by not taking SPG along on foreign tours when he is a SPG protectee,” he said.

Rajnath Singh said,” We want to know where did he go? Why didn't he take SPG cover.” Singh said it is not only a violation of SPG Act but being negligent to safety issues as well.

While raising the issue in the Lower house, M Mallikarjun Kharge questioned the government , saying that Centre had stated that the stone pelters in the Valley were terrorists.
“I want to know from the government-were the stone pelters in Gujarat came from Jammu and Kashmir or BJP activists converted themselves into stone pelters,” Kharge said. Kharge said it was an attempt to kill the congress vice-president.
