Raksha Bandhan Muhurat 2016: Best time to tie Rakhi

Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on Shravana Purnima, also known as Rakhi Purnima. The best time to tie Rakhi on Raksha Bandhan is during Aparahna, which is late afternoon according to Hindu division of the day. Raksha Bandhan rituals should not be performed during Bhadra. Bhadra is malicious time which should be avoided for all auspicious works.

The Rakhi Thali embodies all the elements required in the ritual. The Rakhi Thali consists of Roli, Tilak, Rakhi, grains, rice, incense sticks and sweets.
